FAQ
Is this a public group?
- Yes! Anyone can join at anytime. Just follow the How to Join guidelines and make sure you read the rules.
There was a Higher Ed Year group before, is that still available?
- Grade three is the eldest year group that a character can join as active members will be able to unlock further college year groups through the perks system.
Can I move my character up a year?
- Yes, but you must either note the group before updating your existing app, or submit a new app with the characters new grade to the Pending Apps folder to be accepted.
What Age group does each grade have?
Grade 1 = 15 or 16 years old ; Grade 2 = 16 or 17 ; Grade 3 = 17 or 18 ; Grade 4 = 18 or 19 ; Grade 5 = 19 or 20 ; Grade 6 = 20 or 21
Why is it Grade 1, 2 and 3? Why is there no ninth grade etc.?
- Japanese schools are structured: Day care >> Elementary 1-6 >> Middle/Junior High 1-3 >> High 1-3 >> university. Please make sure you write grade 1, 2 or 3 on your app when joining.
I don't know anything about Japan, can I still join?
- Of course! Tachikawa High is set in the future, in New Tokyo. You don't have to know anything about traditional Japan to be able to have fun.
Can I be a student council member? Club President etc?
- There will be opportunities for you to give your character privileges like titles in roleplay. However, this will be through activity perks. All students start out equal.
Do I have to wait until enrollments to join?
- Not any more! Tachikawa-High will be open indefinitely from March 1st 2014. You just have to submit your app to the pending apps folder and wait until you are sent an invite or messaged about how to improve your app.
Can I have more than 1 character?
- All members start with one character, you can unlock up to three characters and unlimited NPCs through activity perks. (Only mods can have up to three characters without unlocking the activity perks)

Can I use a base/get someone else to draw my app?
- Unfortunately not. Everything needs to be original by you. We don't judge on artistic skill.
My female OC doesn't like skirts/dresses. Can she wear the boy's uniform?
- Sorry but no, this works the other way as well, no boys in female uniform. Girls can always wear shorts or leggings under the skirt/dress though.
Do I have to join a club?
- Yes. You can change clubs at any time by noting the group, but your character must be in a club.
What colour can the eyes/hair be? Can they have piercings etc?
- You can be as creative as you like with your character's appearance, in fact we encourage it. Piercings, tattoos etc. are fine, but please keep up the idea that they will not be a favourite among teachers if they do.
What length can the skirts be?
- Anywhere between a few inches above or a few inches below the knee.
