This is a very simple guide on how to create believable characters that anybody will like.

#1: Try not to give them too crazy an appearance
Heterochromia is fine. In fact, it can be positively encouraged (just don't make it a ridiculous colour like bright yellow). An odd hair colour is also okay. JUST FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T DO SOMETHING STUPID LIKE RAINBOW HAIR AND EYES DX (or indeed, blue hair and blue eyes with blue everything else)

#2: Not every OC has to have a tragic or melodramatic past
A deceased parent/sibling/pet, divorce, adoption or uncaring family don't have to be the foundation for an interesting character. There are many interesting people who come from perfectly normal homes.

#3: Not every OC is required to have a deceased family member

#4: OCs shouldn't be sickly sweet
Don't use too many positive traits! Not everyone is a goody two shoes! And likewise, having a character that is the spawn of satan is also a no-go.

#5: And neither should they be absolutely despicable human beings
Don't use too many negative traits either! Not everyone is a facist dictator in waiting!

#6: Creating a unique character can just mean using personality traits!
There are lots of ways you can create a unique character based on traits. Think about when his/her birthday is and try looking over horoscope descriptions for that star-sign to get a basis of what sort of character s/he could be too.

#7: Just don't use obvious 'unique' personality traits
Like tsundere, yandere, megane, etc. etc.

#8:'Don't try to sell your character'
Your character is yours, there's no need to try and sell them by using phrases such as 'they're beautiful' or 'everyone loves them'.

#9: Girls, you don't need to be open about your cup size!
It's not a Mary-Sue thing, but it's not necessary. We can see that you've got a décolletage (or lack thereof).

:new:
#10: Not all rich parents are heartless.
There have been a lot of apps where the parents are rich and hardworking at the expense of making their child/children lonely or sending them to live with relatives etc. This is something we'll be looking out for now when app checking.

just a question..

umm, are foreigners accepted? Like, half, that is.

if so, is it okay for the family name to be foreign? Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question :iconuhuhuhuplz:

also, i'm actually having second thoughts on having a heterochromic character, but i'm not very sure. Do you ever accept any heterochromic characters? If so, are they pure Japanese, or some are foreign?

but i think i'm not gonna do it instead ; u ;
